Things that DO NOT seem to be working OK are: Re-adjust the brightness again using the iMac keyboardĪdobe LightRoom and PhotoShop, Adobe RAW, and Capture One 21all work brilliantly well with almost seamless image rendering speeds. Reconnect the Morphie cable back into the Mac Mini Re-establish the screen working on the iMac again, by gently pressing the power on button on the back and tapping the iMac keyboard (I haven’t worked out the correct or optimum combination of taps and clicks yet, it just seems to work eventually!) However, every time one of them goes to sleep or I want to restart the Mac Mini, I have toĭisconnect the Morphie USB-C / Thunderbolt cable, Though Belkin do have an HDMI to Mini Display port cable, I haven’t been able to get it to work. It would be great if instead the iMac Target Display could be driven from the HDMI port that’s on the Mac Mini. Consequently, I’ve maxed out by using the other to an external SSD drive, which is much quicker than any of the USB-A ports. Sadly, it takes up one of the precious Thunderbolt ports on the 2020 Mac Mini (there are only two) and suitable USB-c hubs seem to be rare without adding unwanted extras. IMac 27” mid-2010 as Target Display, from 2020 M1 Mac Mini, using Big Sur I have this set up working OK using the Morphie USB-C to Mini Display Port cable However, when I switch the Dell monitor from being connected directly to the laptop to instead using the USB-C hub, the display does not recognize the connection.įrom some Googling, this appears to be a sporadic issue for other users with a MBP using the M1 chip running macOS Monterey. After some playing around with things, it appears that the 31.5" display is showing up when the USB-C hub is connected to the laptop. My issue is that within System Preferences > Displays (see screenshot 2) or About This Mac > Displays (see screenshot 3), there are two external displays being shows, one which is 27" (the real Dell monitor) and the other which is 31.5" (not a monitor that I have in reality). I am also using an 11-in-1 USB-C Hub+ (not really sure of the brand, the package just says "Made in China") to connect my keyboard, webcam, and headset (all USB-A 2/3 connections). I also have a 27" Dell external monitor (model P2722HE) connected using a USB-C cable directly to the laptop. USB Hub recognized as external display, but connecting a display to the hub does not work I have a 16" MacBook Pro 2021 with an Apple M1 Pro chip running macOS Monterey v.12.2.1 (see screenshot 1 for more details). ![]()
